were professionally recorded and specially arranged live sets. A selection of the songs recorded between the stove and the kitchen table
was released by chef Jens Pfeifer as a lovingly designed CD sampler and vinyl box.
The following recordings have been released so far:
Hamburger Küchensessions Vol. 1 - 4 (CD, 8er Vinyl-box), wuttke (CD, Vinyl), Johnny Bob (CD, Vinyl), Staring Girl (CD, Vinyl), Frezy Suhr (CD), Tim Jaacks (CD, Vinyl), Christian Freimuth (CD)
Starting in 2014, Pfeifer has been organizing an open-air concert series during the summer months under the name “Get Out.” Here, up to 800 guests experience the artists live in front of The Kunst Club.
A larger club festival has been held at irregular intervals since 2012.
The venues so far have been Uebel&GefÄhrlich and KNUST in Hamburg.
The aim is to bring together well-known and undiscovered artists from the sessions
and present them to a larger audience. for that cause Pfeifer relies on musical diversity.
Together with the Goethe-Institute Ramallah, the kitchen sessions organized the project “Music Spaces in the Arab World” in 2016-2017. The live concerts
were conceived as small, local events with an audience in a private atmosphere. In doing so, they follow the cinematic and acoustic aesthetics of the Hamburger
kitchen sessions.
2018/19 The Hamburg kitchen sessions presented “caboose concerts”, in cooperation with the shipping company FRS Hanse Ferry concerts on the ship “Kleine Freedom” (little freedom) - a ride through Hamburg harbour.
